BOSTON (AP) - A Randolph man has been ordered held without bail in connection with a fatal Thanksgiving Day shooting in Boston.
Damien Smith is charged in the death of 25-year-old Anthony Lewis, who was shot in the head at his home in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood early Thursday.
Smith pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Monday in Dorchester District Court.
A spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Dan Conley said witnesses told investigators a man who identified himself as "D" came inside Lewis' apartment with another man and went into his bedroom. The witnesses said they heard a single shot and saw the men running from the apartment.
Police are searching for the second suspect.
Smith's attorney, James Greenberg, said Smith has been friends with Lewis for years and adamantly denies killing him.
