(NECN: Latoyia Edwards, Worcester, Mass.) - A 16-year-old mother in Worcester, Massachusetts heads to court today, accused of suffocating her one-year-old son.

Police say emergency workers responded to a home in the city Sunday morning where they found the child in respiratory and cardiac arrest.

The infant was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The mother has been charged with suffocating the boy with a teddy bear.

The mother's name is being withheld because of her age.
