(Katie Daly, NECN: Holden, MA) – Thousands are still without power tonight all over central Massachusetts. The numbers are especially high in some of the smaller towns.
For Matt McCarthy of Holden, Massachusetts its day six. No heat no electricity.
The father of four is trying to stay optimistic as he waits for crews to fix the lines in his neighborhood
Holden was one of hardest hit areas in Central Massachusetts.
Gordon Johnson is staying at the senior center, which was turned into a shelter. He's lived in town for 80 years and has never seen this much destruction.
Scenes like this are common in the town of Holden, lines down trees down and to top it off more freezing rain...but town officials say it wont stop crews from restoring power.
The town is powered by the Holden municipal light company that serves 7,500 customers. The company has called other towns for more manpower.
