(NECN) - Wedding dresses can cost hundreds of dollars, but some brides-to-be didn't pay a single sent for their dream dress.

That's because their fiances are in the military, serving overseas.

Alexandra's Bridal in Fall River, Massachusetts is giving away 150 free dresses as a way to say thanks for the sacrifice American troops and their families make.

The brides say the offer takes a huge weight off.

At the end of the day, the bridal shop will take a hit of about $150,000, but the owner says it's a hit she's willing to take.
