| January 5, 2009 Ice Storm may extend NH school day

(NECN) - The extra-long holiday vacation may be coming to an end for some New Hampshire students affected by last month's ice storm, but that end may be coming with longer school days.
Officials in towns like Wilton and Greenville have reportedly considered adding 20 minutes to each school day to make up for time lost during the Ice Storm of 2008.
In all, those towns tallied up nine snow days during the storm.
Another step to avoid tacking days onto the end of the school year would be to seek a waiver from the state. But a spokeswoman for the New Hampshire Department of Education said she has not heard of any district submitting a request, yet.
