| January 9, 2009 Fire truck crashes into Boston building

(NECN: Scot Yount, Boston, Mass.) - A ladder truck crashed into a brick building at 835 Huntington Avenue this afternoon -- near the Mission Park MBTA station.
The fire truck hit two other parked cars.
There were children on the first floor inside the building when the truck crashed. There is an early learning center on the first floor. None of the children were injured, but they were shaken up and taken to area hospitals as a precaution.
Four firefighters are injured and have been transferred to area hospitals.
The Boston Globe, citing unnamed sources, says one firefighter has been killed and another suffers life-threatening injuries.
The truck apparently went through an intersection and slammed into the Roxbury Tenants of Harvard apartment complex.
Police are restricting traffic from Massachusetts Avenue to Brigham Circle. Brigham Circle to South Huntington is closed to traffic.
The Green Line E is experiencing 10-15 minute delays due to the accident. Passengers desiring outbound service beyond Brigham Circle must board the Route 39 bus. Passengers needing inbound service must also board the Route 39 bus and can board the Green Line at Brigham Circle.
