(Josh Brogadir, NECN) - Most in New England have canceled or rearranged plans due to the snow storm hitting the region this weekend. But there was at least one couple who had fingers crossed, hoping the snow would fall.
Bride and groom, Erin and Randy Ryan, live in Santa Monica, California, but found the perfect place for a white wedding -- Erin's hometown of Thompson, Connecticut.
"We welcome it; we wanted a winter wedding," Erin said. "It was just a good time of year. We thought it would be magical."
Flakes started falling at around 7pm -- by then the reception was underway.
"We've hired a minivan to take people back to the hotels that they're staying at, so everything's set up perfect," "We'll probably be out there making snow angels."
With snow expected to fall throughout the night, there was no better setting for those hoping for a romantic white wedding.
NECN's Josh Brogadir has the story in the video player above.
