January 13, 2009 Susan Kelley, daughter of fallen firefighter speaks out Play video

(NECN) - Family, friends and members of the Boston Fire Department gathered to remember Lieutenant Kevin Kelley. Kelley was killed last week when his fire truck crashed into a building, while returning from a call. A wake was being held in Kelley's hometown of Quincy.

Susan Kelley, Kevin's daughter, said that he joined the force because he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps who was also a Boston firefighter.

She described her dad as a "very fun guy" who loved to go on vacations. Susan is one of Kelley's three adult daughters. She said that she never feared her dad going into work because "growing up as a fireman's daughter you can't worry about that stuff."
