Boston Police: Suspect Dead, Victim Expected to Survive in Domestic Shooting Incident

Boston Police are investigating an overnight shooting.

Police say the incident appears to be domestic in nature where the victim and suspect were both known to each other.

Around 12:20 a.m., Boston EMS responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 4410 Washington Street.

Officers found a 30-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

While on scene, officers learned the suspect's name and that he may be suicidal. 

Police were able to locate the 28-year-old suspect within 30 minutes, but he was found dead inside a motor vehicle in the area of 52 Metropolitan Avenue.

Early information indicates the suspect's death was a suicide.

The investigation is ongoing.

No other information was immediately available.
