(NECN: John Moroney, Boston, Mass.) - Sail Boston 2009 is an event that is expected to bring thousands of spectators to Boston over the next several days.
The Tall Ships are here, and dozens of them, from 17 countries, are now open to the public.

Sail Boston 2009 officially is underway.
In all, 45 ships from 17 countries are docked.
The ships are at the Charlestown Navy Yard, the World Trade Center and Boston's Fish Pier.
