| November 3, 2009 Deadly shooting puts Boston school in 'safe mode'

(NECN: Scot Yount, Dorchester, Mass.) - A deadly shooting this afternoon in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood put a school in "safe mode" for about 90 minutes, and shook up voters at a nearby polling place.
The 23-year-old shooting victim has been pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center.
Boston Police say the victim is known to police, but they will not say if the incident is gang-related.
A call came in to the Boston Police Department just before noon for a shooting at Bowdoin Street and Westville Street. The caller was an off-duty Providence, Rhode Island, police officer.
No arrests have been made.
