November 5, 2009 Fallen Marine honored in North Attleboro Play video

(NECN: John Moroney, North Attleboro, Mass.) - He was a star quarterback turned American hero. Tonight, North Attleboro, Massachusetts remembered a beloved Marine who died in Afghanistan. The town held a vigil for 29-year-old Kyle Van de Giesen.

Van de Giesen died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan last week. He was just days away from returning home for the birth of his second child. The vigil was held at the community field.
