(NECN: Newton, Mass.) - The first African-American to be elected mayor of Newton, Mass. is being congratulated by President Barack Obama.
On Wednesday, Setti Warren received a call from the president to wish him well after winning.
Warren's campaign manager says he had to put the president on hold -- he was preparing to go on TV at the time, forcing Pres. Obama to call back later.
Warren was first introduced to the president before he left to serve in Iraq two years ago.
