6-year-old injured by parade float

ORLEANS, Mass. (AP) - A 6-year-old girl was treated for a
possible broken leg after she slipped under a float that was part
of a Fourth of July parade in Orleans.

Police say on Friday morning the girl got off the float, which
was sponsored by a local gym, then slipped when she tried to get
back on.

Police say the girl went under the float and her leg became
trapped under one of its wheels.

According to a police press release, the driver quickly stopped
and backed off her leg.

The girl, whom police did not identify, was taken to Cape Cod
Hospital for treatment for contusions and a possible fracture.
