After years of threats, mother seeks justice

(Lauren Collins, NECN) - A New Hampshire mother says she's been threatened for years by her estranged husband, and even though he's been convicted, Kristen Ruggiero claims she's still waiting for justice to be served.

Ruggiero and her daughter Meghan never stay in the same place too long. Kristin says wherever they go, her estranged husband Jeffery manages to find them.

Kristin alleges years of violence, episodes that have resulted in multiple restraining orders in several states and the ultimate breakup of the couples marriage.

In April, Jeffrey Ruggiero was convicted in a New Hampshire court of violating a restraining order taken out to protect Kristin. He was also convicted of the criminal threatening of her mother. He was a no-show weeks later when his bail was revoked and failed to appear in court last month when he was sentenced to three years in prison. There are additional warrants for his arrest in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and California, where he's wanted on a felony domestic violence charge. Despite all this, Jeffrey Ruggiero is still a free man. He is a officer in the US coast guard, stationed in South Carolina.
