(NECN: Latoyia Edwards, Newton, Mass.) - It seems every time you drive by the gas pump these days, prices have gone up even more. Now, for the first time in decades, people are changing the way they drive.
AAA and the Oil Price Information Service say the average price of a gallon of regular jumped more than two and a half cents overnight to more than $3.67 a gallon.
The Energy Department expects prices to peak at a monthly average of $3.73 in June, though many analysts say national average prices could rise as high as $4.
A poll by USA Today and Gallup shows that on average, Americans drove less for the fourth month in a row in February. That's the first time since 1979 that's happened. And, in the poll, 60% admit they're cutting household expenses because of high prices.
