(NECN: Vermont) - Brooke Bennett's stepmother, Janet Bennet, knew the 12-year-old since she was 16-months-old. Janet tells NECN's Anya Huneke that she "most definitely" thought of Brooke as her own daughter.

Janet has not yet returned back to work since the murder of Brooke.

Brooke's uncle, Michael Jacques, has been charged with her kidnapping. Her body was found near his home.
