Boston remembers Rosa Parks in annual ceremony

(NECN) - In Boston, a special ceremony was held this morning to honor one of the most well-known figures in civil rights history. Rhea McCauley, the niece of Rosa Parks, delivered the keynote address at the Annual African American Pinning Ceremony.

McCauley is an artist who traveled all the way from Michigan to Massachusetts General Hospital for the event. She shared some of her family stories and her memories of the civil rights movement. McCauley's father was the younger brother of Rosa Parks.

The annual event gives attention to heroes and honors Mass General employees who have beat the odds. The theme of this year's ceremony is "quiet courage."
