| July 24, 2008 Epsom officials: Major search and rescue underway

(NECN: Epsom, NH) - Epsom, New Hampshire officials have confirmed two injuries as a result of today's storm and say the victims have been transported to Concord Hospital. Epsom officials cannot confirm reports of one fatality at this time.
Epsom Elementary School has been opened as a shelter.
Governor Lynch has been at the scene and has taken a ground and air tour of the area.
There are 50 to 100 homes that have suffered everything from complete ruin to minor damage.
Route 4 is closed to through traffic from the Epsom Traffic Circle East to the area of Johnson's Dairy Bar in the town of Northwood. Please also avoid Route 107 from Deerfield north into Epsom.
There is currently a major search and rescue underway with local fire departments, in excess of 20 different fire departments in the area.
