| August 30, 2008 FEMA team readies for Hurricane Gustav

(Prat Thakkar, NECN: Beverly, MA) - Several groups around New England are getting ready to help the Gulf Coast.
Beverly is home of the urban search and rescue team, one of 28 located around the country. The teams are watching Hurricane Gustav very closely. As the storm continues to gain momentum, the team is preparing to help.
This team from Massachusetts has five trucks, consisting of two tractor trailers, and three box trucks. They are loaded not only with equipment they need but also with medical supplies and communications equipment.
The team was called to help during Hurricane Katrina three years ago. They are currently awaiting orders.
