| April 9, 2008 Fenway plays role in Green Boston initiative

(NECN) - The Energy Secretary designated Boston as a "Solar America City" on Wednesday. Boston Mayor Tom Menino used the occasion to announce a new 2-year initiative called "Solar Boston."
Earlier this year, Popular Science magazine ranked Boston as the third greenest municipality in the nation. Boston was also the first major city to implement a green building requirement for commercial buildings.
Another example of the solar initiative can be found at Fenway Park. In May, Red Sox ownership will install a solar water heating system to the roof of the old ballpark.
NECN's Josh McElveen explains.
