(NECN: Josh McElveen, Boston, Mass.) - Five people remain in critical condition after they were struck by lightning yesterday in Boston. Authorities say 10 people were huddled under a tree when the lightning hit.
Boston EMS officials say the victims were taken to various
hospitals Sunday with burns consistent with lightning strikes. The
youngest was 13 years old, while the oldest was in his 40s.
Five people remain in intensive care Monday, though all are
expected to survive. Three others have been released from the
hospital.
The storm struck about 3:30 p.m. during a men's soccer game at
Dorchester's Franklin Field.
