(John Moroney, NECN: Gloucester, MA) - The issue of teen pregnancy is once again the focus in Gloucester, Massachusetts. 17 students at the city's high school became pregnant this school year.
Allegations of a pregnancy pact have put Gloucester in the national spotlight. Now the school and city are looking to move on.
The Gloucester school committee listened to a panel of specialists. Dr. Lauren Smith, medical director of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health says the city needs a comprehensive reproductive health curriculum.
Gloucester is conservative town and in the past there has not been any distribution of contraceptives. One panelist said that should change.
