(NECN) - Boston police Commissioner Ed Davis is taking a hard line stance hoping to prevent corruption.
Davis tells the Boston Globe that he is now issuing harsher punishments to officers who commit infractions.
He hopes to stop misconduct before it becomes widespread corruption.
Three former Boston police officers were recently convicted of plotting to guard shipments of cocaine into Boston.
