| May 21, 2008 Kennedy goes home, sets sail
|
(NECN: Brad Puffer, Hyannisport, Mass.) - Senator Ted Kennedy went for a sail on Nantucket Sound with his wife and dogs after walking out of Mass General Hospital and returning home on Wednesday.
He'll spend the next few days recuperating at home while doctors await more test results and determine his treatment plan.
A square bandage atop the backside of his head marked the spot where doctors performed a biopsy on Monday that led them to conclude the 76-year-old Massachusetts Democrat has a malignant glioma in his left parietal lobe.
Kennedy was flown to the hospital on Saturday after suffering a seizure at his family compound.
The left parietal lobe helps governor sensation, movement and language. Malignant gliomas are diagnosed in about 9,000 Americans a year.
