Lobster boat given as token of appreciation

(NECN) - U.S. Marine reservist Rich Giguere, a veteran of two tours in Iraq, finds the bow of the Krasher III tougher than the bottle of champagne.

The newly refurbished lobster boat is a dream come true and a token of thanks for his service from the previous owner, John Neikrash. John had decided to move up to a bigger, more powerful boat and had an idea.

He decided to have the Krasher III refurbished and give it to a returning serviceman or woman.

The only fair way he could think of was to give it to the first person who called.

Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman was touched by Giguere's service and Neikrash's gesture so he chose Neikrash as one of his Joe's Heroes.

NECN's Brian Burnell reports from Noank, CT.
