Local bands in Foxboro, MA take part in benefit concert

(NECN) - This concert of local bands for two very special sisters, and if their lives were a song, parts of it would be incredibly sad.

Last August they were both shot in the head by their Mother's ex-boyfriend. He killed their Mother even their dog. The last thing their Mother did was give Danielle a healing stone, telling her daughter she loved her.

Their sister Amanda, here in the middle, saved their lives. Away in Florida she kept calling home, ultimately alerting their Father who found them over a day later.

But this song, these lives, are about much more than sadness, there's spirit and survival. Brittany lost her vision in one eye, but is now back in school. Danielle has one more surgery to go before putting away this helmet she won't miss. She's looking forward to school, maybe becoming a nurse.

The girls now live with their Dad and Step-Mom and are surrounded here by a community of those in awe of their resilience and heart. The sisters say, that comes from their Mom.
Donations for the Cann sisters can be sent to: Personal Best Charities 280 East Main Street Norton, Mass.
