(NECN) - Maine's Attorney General is warning flood victims in Aroostook County to be wary of scams.
Steven Rowe says door to door salespeople hit the streets after this weeks floods offering cleanup and repair services.
Rowe says businesses and homeowners should contact insurance adjusters to get estimates of repair costs.
He recommends using those estimates as a reference when hiring a contractor.
The Maine emergency management agency is asking flood victims to call 211 to report losses or flood damage.
