| June 4, 2008 Mass. State Senator Marzilli released on bail

(Brad Puffer, NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Massachusetts State Senator James Marzilli pleaded not guilty in Lowell District Court Wednesday to making lewd comments to two women on Tuesday and attempting to touch one sexually. Marzilli was also charged with resisting arrest. He has been released on $1,500 bail.
Governor Patrick calls the allegations against the state Senator "very, very sad." Meanwhile, Senate President Therese Murray calls the allegations "troubling."
The 50-year-old Marzilli identified himself to police as Martin Walsh - the same name as a former House colleague. The real Martin Walsh says he hopes Marzilli gets the help he needs.
