McCain plans NH "thank you" visit

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Republican John McCain is said to be planning a "thank you" visit to New Hampshire.

Chuck Douglas, who was McCain's state campaign vice chair, says word from the Arizona senator's former campaign is that McCain will return to the state this winter or spring to thank his supporters.

McCain's win in the New Hampshire Primary last January revived a campaign that was essentially written off, paving the way to the presidential nomination.

Douglas said McCain feels he let his New Hampshire supporters down by losing the election. But Douglas said McCain did everything he could, and his state campaigners feel they let him down.
