Mother questioned after toddler found alone

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Hartford police say they've arrested the
mother of a toddler who was abandoned in an apartment building
lobby over the weekend.

Police Chief Daryl Roberts says the mother is a high school
student who is 16. Police are not releasing her name.

Investigators charged the girl Monday with risk of injury to a
minor and abandonment.

City police got a call Saturday evening and found the boy in the
lobby, alone in a stroller. The boy, who is in good health, in now
in the custody of the state Department of Children and Families.
