Officials investigate deadly cargo plane crash

(Scot Yount, NECN: Hyannis, Mass.) - Federal officials are investigating a cargo plane crash that killed a pilot on Cape Cod.

The plane went down at Barnstable Municipal Airport around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Script:

The cargo plane was taking off from Hyannis for Nantucket when something went wrong.

Eyewitnesses say the plane plummeted to the ground nose first. The impact killed the pilot, 43-year-old Mark Conway. He was the only person on board.

The aircraft can carry up to 3,000 pounds. On Wednesday, it had only around 200 pounds of cargo on board.

Reportedly, Conway was an experienced pilot.

NECN's Scot Yount has details.
