| August 2, 2008 PMC volunteers, "the engine and soul of the team"
|
(Scot Yount, NECN) - There are more than 5,500 riders taking part in this year's Pan Mass Challenge. But there are also thousands of others who make this event so special.
110 miles from the start, is where the riders will find anything they might need. Massage therapy, pizza, calzones, even an IPA. it’s the volunteers that make all of it possible.
Some work 12 hour shifts, but they all agree that it is the least they can do to battle the disease. The riders consider the volunteers the "engine and the soul of the team" because if were not for them they would not be able to get through the day.
