| July 12, 2008 Police: Route 128 south closed from explosion
|
(NECN) - A tanker carrying more than 11,000 gallons of gasoline rolled over and burst into flames on Saturday morning on Route 128 in Needham, Massachusetts.
State police say the driver of the truck, Kevin Power of Watertown, Massachusetts, swerved to avoid a large piece of metal in the road.
The truck hit a guardrail and overturned and burst into flames.
We have cell phone video shot by our Web Producer Larry Holmes on his way into our studios this morning.
Power managed to get out of the truck and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Route 128 south is closed between route 9 and Great Plain Avenue.
Crews are removing the wreckage from the highway.
They will repave the road and hope to have Route 128 South reopened by noon.
