(Alison King, NECN) - Massachusetts voters face an interesting ballot question this fall: a proposal to eliminate the state income tax.
Governor Patrick is urging voters to say no, but sponsors of the measure say it's time to send Beacon Hill a message. Supporters however say they are doing much more than just sending a message. They are dead set on eliminating the income tax. Opponents say citizens would notice the impact immediately.
Gov. Patrick and other opponents of the initiative say before voting, citizens should consider a state without road and bridge maintenance, significantly scaled back public safety, scarce resources for schools and potentially much higher property and sales taxes.
NECN's Alison King has more.
