Search resumes for Middlebury student

(NECN) - About 30 searchers returned to the area around Middlebury College today to continue their search for missing freshman Nicholas Garza.

Garza has not been seen since leaving an on-campus party back on February 5.

Members of the Vermont State Police's search-and-rescue team, with help from the Colchester Technical Rescue Squad and New England K-9 Search and Rescue, are scouring the campus trying to find clues that could lead them to Garza, more than a month after the initial search operations were suspended.

Town of Middlebury police spokesman Tom Scanlon tells the Associated Press that the effort has shifted from a rescue operation to a recovery effort.
