| July 24, 2008 Severe storms ravage New Hampshire; One death reported

(NECN: Lauren Collins, Epsom, NH) - New Hampshire Governor John Lynch says the severe thunderstorm and possible tornadoes that hit the state today killed at least one person, destroyed at least six homes and damaged at least 100 others.
Emergency crews are trying to get to those most severely affected by today's storms and possible tornadoes in New Hampshire. They are cutting their way through downed trees to get to damaged homes.

There is one confirmed death and officials partake in a door to door search.
Epsom appears to have been hit the hardest.
Governor John Lynch declared a state emergency for five counties and called out the National Guard.
Lynch says the storm has destroyed at least a half dozen homes and damaged at least 100.
Officials are investigating reported sightings of tornadoes and funnel clouds from Epsom and Deerfield in the central part of the state, through Wolfeboro in the north and New Durham in the east.
Power is out in a wide area.
