Tremendous storm damage in powerless regions of Maine

(NECN/ABC) - This video is from Gorham, Maine, part of a region hit hard by electrical outages following powerful thunderstorms that made their way across southern Maine.

As of 8 am Saturday, Central Maine Power said 8,400 customers were without service. The hardest hit areas include Gorham, Buxton, Scarborough, Windham, the Berwicks, Eliot, Sanford and Lebanon.

At its worst, roughly 20,000 customers were left without power. Line crews are working through the weekend and expect to have everyone back on line by Sunday morning.
