(Greg Wayland, NECN: Boston, MA) - Vice President Dick Cheney is celebrating the Fourth of July in Boston. He was on hand Friday morning to help welcome some of the country's newest citizens at the USS Constitution.
Cheney read the oath of office for the military during a re-enlistment ceremony aboard the Constitution, the Navy's oldest commissioned warship.
A spokesman for the Vice President said he greeted the new citizens before taking part in the re-enlistment ceremony.
The ceremony is usually held aboard "Old Ironsides" but it is undergoing some renovations so the location had to be moved.
