(NECN: South Boston, Mass.) - A Massachusetts woman, accused of burning down her former lover's South Boston home, killing her two young daughters, is being held on $1 million bail.
Prosecutors say Nicole Chuminski set the April 6 blaze hours
after getting into an argument with the girls' mother, Anna
Reisopoulos.
Chuminski pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one
count of arson at her arraignment Monday. She is due back in court
June 19.
Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley said Chuminski was seen
near the home around the time of the blaze, and an accelerant that
could have fueled a fire was found on her clothing afterward.
Killed in the fire were 14-year old Acia Johnson and 2-year old
Sophia Johnson. Officials said the sisters became trapped on the
top floor of the burning triple-decker and died in each other's
arms.
