(NECN/WPRI) - U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey was hospitalized after collapsing during a late-night speech on Thursday.
Mukasey was described and conscious and alert early Friday morning.
A Justice Department spokesman would not comment when asked if Mukasey suffered a stroke.
About fifteen minutes into his speech, Mukasey slumped over after slurring his words, and could be seen swaying and shaking slightly.
"The President has him in his thoughts and will be kept apprised and hopes that he will be back up and at 'em again soon," press secretary Dana Perino said.
