(NECN: Jim Braude) - Yesterday, the featured speaker at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce breakfast was someone who has been on the job just a couple months. However, his wake-up call on the state's financial crisis made news like a seasoned pro.
Robert DeLeo, Speaker of the Massachusetts House joins Jim Braude Broadside.
DeLeo warned that deep cuts are necessary, but says that alone will not solve the state's budget problems. "We're going to try to do as much cutting as we can. We're going to try to limit the use of our stabilization fund as much as we can." He adds, "But bottom line at the end of the day, after all of those matters are addressed, then we're going to have to talk about, if the membership is so inclined, other alternative revenue sources."
