(NECN:John Meroney, Boston, Mass.) - Keeping housing affordable is a political flashpoint in Boston to be sure. But this year it's especially true given the race for mayor between Tom Menino and Michael Flaherty.
The Mass. Alliance of HUD tenants rallied Saturday. They want to make sure more is done to keep the owners of federally-subsidized apartments from converting them to market rates.
The mayor-challenger says he was born in public housing and that the current administration is not doing enough to keep places to live affordable.
The incumbent says he has a long history of dealing with affordable housing while his opponent doesn't have a track record on the issue.
