(NECN) - Ready to witness the fruits of his challenge of Mayor Thomas Menino in Boston's mayoral election, Citiy Councilor Michael Flaherty appeared on NECN's Broadside: The News with Jim Braude on the eve of the election.
Flaherty made his case for mayor, saying that there would be changes should a Flaherty administration be put in place. He cited the recent deleted e-mails situation with the Menino administration as something that would not occur if he were to take office.
"Under a Flaherty administration, no one will be in the business of destroying public documents," Flaherty said. "If they did, they won't be working."
Flaherty said that the Menino administration put together a "naughty list" to decide who received permits, gets a return phone call or license.
Stating his case for the most substantive reason voters should select him on Election Day.
"I'm going to improve the schools, that's for starters," Flaherty said of the elementary and secondary schools. "If there are not significant gains in The Boston Public Schools, I will not seek re-election."
Mayor Menino also appeared on the program. See his interview by clicking here.
