| November 2, 2009 Menino touts 'positive' campaign on election's eve

(NECN: Alison King, East Boston, Mass.) - A big rally was planned for Monday night, as Mayor Thomas Menino makes his final push to get out the vote. Hundreds were expected to attend.
Polls show Mayor Menino is the clear front runner in the race, but with the schedule he has kept over the final days of his campaign, one would think he was the underdog.
While polls show undecided voters still make up a sizeable portion of the electorate, they also have Mayor Menino with a significant lead over challenger City Councilor At Large Michael Flaherty.
The mayor likely feels his best strategy on the eve of the election is to stay on message.
"Our organization has been putting forward a good 'get out the vote' operation for tomorrow to make sure that we get all the voters out and they understand my campaign's all about the positive message of Boston, about moving our city forward," Mayor Menino said.
His event on Monday night is being billed as a very big campaign rally.
