| November 3, 2009 Will Menino's re-election bid be derailed by Flaherty?
|
(NECN: Katie Davis, Boston, Mass.) - Today, voters finally get to decide the most competitive mayoral race in Boston in 16 years. The polls opened early this morning.
City Councilor Michael Flaherty believes the race will come down to undecided voters. Flaherty is looking to unseat incumbent Tom Menino.
Flaherty is even asking people to use text messages and Facebook to remind their friends to vote.
Nearly two dozen incumbent mayors are facing
challenges in today's elections across the state of Massachusetts.
One of the more heated races is in Quincy, where Mayor Thomas
Koch and former Mayor William Phelan are staging
a rematch of their 2007 race, in which Koch ousted Phelan from
office.
NECN and NECN.com will have complete election night results from around New England and the nation tonight.
