| July 25, 2008 Barack Obama meets with President Sarkozy

(NECN/ABC) - At a brief stop at the Elysee palace in Paris, Barack Obama seemed to win over French president Nicolas Sarkoszy who said he was "especially happy" to be meeting with the Illinois senator.
Sarkozy: "We say good luck to Barack Obama. If he is chosen France will be delighted
and if it's someone else then France will be the friend of the United States of America."
When asked if he was endorsing Obama, Sarkoszy didn't deny it.
But the visit also included some international politics.
Obama urged Iran to work with the European union to end their uranium
Enrichment program.
Obama: Iran should accept the proposals that Sarkozy and the eu+3 are being
presenting you. DON'T wait for the next president because the pressure, I
think, is only going to build.
Shortly after Obama made those remarks, the McCain camp shot back saying last month Obama referred to similar e-u efforts as outsourcing.
A senior McCain advisor also asked: "Does Barack Obama pick and choose his positions out of inexperience or does he just play to his audience?"
But in Colorado ahead of a meeting with the dalai lama, McCain was even more aggressive, insisting Obama was wrong to oppose the troop surge, saying it was the final chance to succeed in Iraq.
McCain: "Senator Obama told the American people what he thought you wanted to hear.
I told you the truth."
