(Prat Thakkar, NECN) - Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy underwent successful surgery Monday at Duke University Medical Center.
The Senator surveyed all his options and decided on a 3.5 hour procedure to cut out as much of his brain tumor as possible. The surgery was performed by Dr. Allan Friedman.
Dr. Friedman is a top neurosurgeon at Duke and an internationally known tumor and vascular surgeon. He says Kennedy should not experience any permanent neurological damage.
