Braude: GOP needs to move off Sarah Palin theme

(NECN: St. Paul, MN) - The Republicans are back on track in St. Paul. It is goodbye Gustav, and hello Fred, Joe, Laura and 'W'. Tuesday's agenda is set. Highlights include the official hand off from President Bush to John McCain. Plus history will be made, when former Democratic V.P. Candidate making the case for a GOP nominee.

All of this happening and still the focus remains on McCain's vice presidential pick, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Jim thinks that it is time to move on to what is really important this week. He says "the fact we are on the second day of a convention, and we are talking about the unmarried child of the presumptive vice presidential nominee is sort of twilight zone-esque".

Braude says that as much as the convention loves Sarah Palin, they need to move off that theme, and move on to how John McCain can lead the country in a times of war and of international concern.
