(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - In his interview with Alison King on Monday, Massachusetts House Speaker Sal DiMasi said he had no involvement in securing a controversial, multi-million dollar contract to Cognos, a Canadian software company with its US headquarters in Burlington, Mass.
"That contract was awarded through the governors office and the administration," DiMasi told King. "I did not speak to anybody, and I did not try to influence the contract to go to anyone."
He also said he was confident the state ethics committee, which has been criticized by Massachusetts Repblicans for inaction in the face of a decade of recent scandals, would take allegations by Rep. Jennifer Callahan that she was threatened by a fellow member very seriously.
